Pirlo hardly ever gave the ball away, not a game goes by when Noble doesnt lose possession, we have been lucky as to not getting as punished as much as we could have.

You saw for yourself yesterday how far Noble is from ever getting a call up.
The quicker Song is in the better we will be. It will free Kouyate up a bit and we will get the best out of him.
The fact the special one is now suspended is a blessing in disguise. The reason he gets booked so often anyway is because he mistimes his tackles because he is so fucking slow.
There was one instance yesterday when he lunged in on the touchline because the player pushed the ball two yards ahead of him and he was trailing in his wake, so slow was he.
Balnacing that out some of the others were just as poor yesterday so you cant attribute all the blame to him but surely the time has come for him to have a stint out of the starting eleven?

Blessing noble is suspended next week as song will automatically come in which will enable Kouyate to roam further forward as box to box midfielder. I rate obiang highly and I'd like to see him come In to the side too. Also like to see Reece Oxford get a lot of
Minutes as one of the two in front of the back four.
I like Carroll but we don't play to his strengths as a starter. Brilliant Impact sub when we are chasing a goal but I doubt he will settle for that beyond this season.

You can't blame Noble really, as a West Ham supporter having a local lad as the captain is the type of thing we love, it's a rarity too to see a player come up through the ranks and stay with that club until they retire (as it looks that way for him).
But to an extent, are we bordering on trying to keep tradition, at the cost of improving the team? Would we be better off with Song or Obiang in his place alongside Kouyate? Has Bilic got the balls to drop him for some games? Is he even allowed to (would Gold and Sullivan allow it).
Would we see an improvement if we played 5-6 games with Song/Kouate or Obiang in the holding role, it'd be interesting to find out.

Gentile pretty ridiculous to comapre Noble to Brooking or Hoddle let alone Pirlo.
Though pace in Brooking's and Hoddle's day was nowhere as important as it is in today's game any player that can see a pass or move a second before others can compensate for his lack of physical speed, that was a quality both those players possessed in abundance but sadly Noble simply is not at that level.
Noble has numerous qualities that make him a decent West Ham player but an England player, sorry no.

Noble is of course not in the same class as any of those players but not worthy of a squad place for England because he is slow?

I don't think Noble played that badly today more a situation that the Spurs midfield showed up his limitations with their pressing and movement and it proves it would take a brave England manager to expose him at International level.

Has to become a squad player who is called on now and then. Just far too slow and shit to be a regular captain.
Mind you he is a very good leader off the pitch and noone else can fill that role as well. Hopefully Slaven accepts this and plays him accordingly.
He can fill a role this and next year as a squad midfielder who starts on occasion he isn't that bad but the althetic limitations are too glaring.
